Exports of medical masks, gloves, gowns, and coveralls have become a key driver in healthcare supply chains worldwide. In 2024, shipments of Vietnamese PPE products generated over USD 3.2 billion, supported by high-volume orders from the U.S., EU, and Asia-Pacific.

More than 1.7 billion face masks and approximately 15 billion pairs of nitrile gloves were exported, reflecting strong global demand. Exports of protective garments under HS 621010 alone totaled USD 154.96 million in 2023, accounting for 14,718 metric tons of volume. Industry data also shows that in 2023, medical mask exports surpassed USD 1.1 billion, ranking Vietnam among the leading global suppliers.

The sector benefits from over 1,500 manufacturing enterprises, many holding CE, FDA, and ISO certifications, ensuring compliance with strict international standards. Additionally, exports of disposable gowns and coveralls rose by more than 18% year-on-year in 2024, highlighting the industry’s continued resilience and growth in the global PPE market.
