COSMETICS & PERFUMES
The cosmetics and perfume sector has shown strong momentum in Southeast Asia, with exports from Vietnam recording steady growth in recent years. In 2023, Vietnam’s cosmetics exports were valued at approximately USD 250 million, with perfumes and beauty preparations making up a significant share of outbound trade.
The industry is supported by a domestic market of over 100 million consumers, where cosmetics spending per capita reached nearly USD 7 in 2022, reflecting rising demand and production capacity that feeds into export performance. South Korea, Japan, and Thailand are among the main export destinations, while shipments to the European Union and the United States have expanded under favorable tariff agreements.
The country hosts more than 400 enterprises involved in cosmetics manufacturing and distribution, ensuring scalability for international orders. With imports of raw materials for cosmetic production exceeding USD 500 million annually, local manufacturers are able to source inputs flexibly and deliver competitive finished goods for global markets.
